Best Case Scenario

Temperature in the 3 Zones

Luxterna (Eternal Day):
- Highest Temperature: 45 °C
- Lowest Temperature: 30 °C
- Ideal Temperature: 37 °C

Noxterna (Eternal Night):
- Highest Temperature: 0 °C
- Lowest Temperature: -30 °C
- Ideal Temperature: -15 °C

Terminator Zone:
- Highest Temperature: 30 °C
- Lowest Temperature: 10 °C
- Ideal Temperature: 15 °C

Weather of the 3 Zones

Luxterna (Eternal Day):
In Luxterna, the rain cycle is normal and stable. Like the tropical parts of the Earth, Luxterna only experiences rainy seasons and summer. 60% of TRAPPIST-1 e’s body of water is found in Luxterna, allowing the rain cycle to be easily conducted.

Noxterna (Eternal Night):
In noxterna (Eternal Night), the weather is quiet the opposite of the one in luxterna. It is constantly snowing due to the low temperature of this region, and rainfall comes once in a blue moon. However, hail is less prevalent on this planet.

Terminator Zone:
The weather in the terminator zones is consistent, rain, thunderstorms, and snowing seasons. This region is similar to Earth, where there are different periods of weathers. It is the most suitable place of living.

Life on the Zones (Plants & Animals)

Here are some animals that can survive in TRAPPIST- 1e

Luxterna (Eternal Day):
- Reptiles are animals that can withstand heat and usually live in hot, dry regions. TRAPPIST-1 e is a suitable place for reptiles to strive. However, intense temperature may cause them to adapt by increasing the amount of heat the release through their scales.

- Tropical fish are a diverse group of fish species that inhabit the warm waters of tropical and subtropical regions. They are often found in unique colors and shapes. They may adapt to a TRAPPIST- 1e’s hotter environment by having a larger body surface area to increase the heat released from their skin.

- Many species of birds can live in hot temperatures upto 40°C. They are very useful in ecosystems as they can disperse seeds and act as pest control. In high temperatures, birds may adapt by heightening their heat-tolerant metabolism. This allows them to extract energy from their food while producing less heat.

- Palm trees are versatile. They also bear fruits, which can be eaten, and wood, which can be utilized for building. With the ability to withstand high temperaturesbuffalo grass is a low-maintenance grass that can sustain high temperatures is highly drought-tolerant and can survive long periods of dry weather without irrigation

Noxterna (Eternal Night):
- Polar bears are masters of the cold, with thick blubber and fur for the chilly nights. These animals will have no problem living in noxterna. However, the temperature is never like it was before. They may adapt by enhancing their insulation abilities and growing thicker, denser fur to prevent heat loss.

- Beluga Whales are suitable for the cold temperatures of the noxterna zone of TRAPPIST-1e. They may adapt by growing thicker and denser fat for insulation.

- Snowy Owls are adapted to strive in cold weather. They may even find TRAPPIST-1e as a better place to live. However, temperature might plummet suddenly and because of this they may grow more and thicker feathers to keep them warm.

Terminator Zone:
- The temperature range in the terminator zone is similar to the ones on Earth. Hence, most animals can strive here. For example:chicken, cows, horses and many more. Both warmblooded and coldblooded animals can live here

- Most sea animals can live here except for tropical fish as they live in hotter waters. The food chain here is similar to Earth'sere

- Birds that live on the tropical side of Earth surely can survive here with no need for adaptations. Birds from cooler weather may also survive here but they would need to grow less feathers to release more heat.

Life on Zones (People)

Loxterna (Eternal Day):
People living in day zones can experience more rain, resulting in more drinking water piling up in water reservoirs, increasing the supply for drinking water in the zone. The plant life also flourish in the day zones, resulting in an increase in food supply for the people too. Food and water is a basic necessity for human kind to survive, and thus an increase of it makes living in the day zone so much habitable.

Noxterna (Eternal Night):
In the night zones, desalination processes and snow converter is a process which can be used to gain more drinking water. Root plants, such as potatoes or radishes, can flourish even in a cold environment like the night zone. Furthermore, the colder climate can make a fun and cool time for the people, and playing with snow is a leisure activity that many people could not indulge in but can in the night zone.

Terminator Zone:
The life on the terminator zones are similar to Earth where they can experience both winter and summer, and the day and night cycle do not get affected. This makes the terminator zone the most balanced and habitable place to live in, and the most consistent based on weather, temperature, and survivability.

How to obtain energy?

Luxterna (Eternal Day):
Luxterna Zone will always experience constant day light. We can take advantage for us to plant solar panels all around the Luxterna zone. Sunlight will always be converted to electricity, decreasing the need to use non-renewable energy.

Noxterna (Eternal Night):
On the other hand, the Noxternal Zone is always dark hence solar panel will not work. However, this side of the planet will be constantly windy, making it a good place for wind turbines. Windy weather at night makes use of wind turbines to provide renewable energy. This creates another source of energy to provide for the habitants, which can ultimately increase the efficiency of gaining energy without being harmful or polluting the environment.

Best case scenario, all the 3 regions are safe to live in. In this scenario, the lux zone contains most of the planet's water. The temperatures in the lux zone are high with its lowest estimated temperature to be 30°c and its highest to be 45°c, but the temperatures are not at the extreme and life such as plants and animals can still survive. Here the rain cycle is normal and similar to that of Earth's. This means that freshwater is easily accessible. It would be used with farms and overall agriculture, and to make full use of its light, solar panels will be placed everywhere, powering most of the planet. The nox zone will have an estimated lowest temperature as -30°c and its highest to be at a freezing 0°c. Life on this side would still be possible with real life examples such as polar bears. The terminator zone is the sweet spot for humans, with the highest temperature 30°c and its lowest at 10°c. The animals that would strive here would be mostly domesticated animals and farm animals. The planet's estimated population would be very similar to Earth's with it being 7 Billion people. Most people live in the heat with 41.7% of them followed by Nox containing 36.7% and 21.7% in the Terminator.
